Dolphins rally past Rams 14-10 for 5th straight win

And this was by design: the Rams kept things extremely simple for Goff on a rainy Los Angeles day against a stingy Miami defense, meaning he mostly handed the ball off and threw short passes.

LOS ANGELES Their goal was to make the rookie squirm.

The genuine excitement from his bench after he dives for the new set of downs is noticeable. We played pretty well for most of the game and then on the last two possessions gave up two touchdowns. Perhaps you're looking at a club with multiple playoff appearances in that time frame instead of a franchise that will now probably fail to win eight games once again. "We weren't able to do that". "In your first game, it takes a little while to settle in".

Goff, who was sacked once, completed 17 of 31 passes for 134 yards. While Goff definitely didn't do anything astounding, it is a big positive Goff did not throw any interceptions or fumble the ball. "I don't know his stats, but I feel like it was a big win for the good guys".

Thus the debate ensued about whether the L.A. Rams were too trigger happy or not in starting Jared Goff at this point. "I'm just glad you're not in personnel".

And that's sort of the problem.

After watching Case Keenum throughnine games - and booing the offense two weeks ago at the Coliseum - Rams fans were excited to see what Goff would provide.

Apple has yet to comment on the matter or provide a fix, but the company should offer at least a temporary workaround soon enough. Wouldn't it be better to quietly disclose the problem to Apple , wait for the issue to be fixed, and then make it public?

That's not on Goff. That's because for about three quarters and six minutes of play in the fourth, Tannehill and the Fins offense laid a goose egg on the scoreboard and were unable to get anything going. So, not the best performance, but maybe head coach Jeff Fisher can help us find a silver lining. The Rams' only touchdown score came from running back Todd Gurley in the first quarter.

How did it work out?

- Seattle rookie C.J. Prosise had a 72-yard touchdown run on a classic zone blocking cutback, and Thomas Rawls (14 carries, 57 yards) added some power inside. The Rams sacked Tannehill four times and even forced him to throw an interception as well. He attempted only five passes that traveled longer than 10 yards in the air and completed none of them, according to ESPN's statistics.

"I don't expect us to do anything insane next week", Goff said. "He's not going to say he was OK, because we lost, but I thought he managed things well".

The Rams are 4-6, which means that they need to go 3-3 over the final six to get to 7-9.

Theoretically Fisher's philosophy of playing careful, deliberate football offensively and essentially putting games into the hands of the defense is a sound approach. Just before the half, Goff found himself painfully sandwiched between Suh and fellow Pro Bowl defensive lineman Cameron Wake, nine yards behind the line of scrimmage. After scratching and clawing their way to a 10-0 lead, the Rams shut it down. and then fell apart, in a 14-10 loss to the Dolphins. "We need to finish better and stay out of our own way".

It's true, but also absurd in a way. There is more to his game than was on display Sunday. In their last three losses, the Rams have allowed a total of 44 points.

Fisher now has 162 career losses, tied with Tom Landry for second-most in National Football League history. With four more losses, he'll be the all-time leader, climbing past Dan Reeves, who has 165. Yeah, it was disappointing - in particular the two defensive drives considering the way the defense played throughout the game. After all, Kroenke never seemed to be all that concerned with the Rams' record, and now that the team's valuation jumped $2 billion just by relocating, who needs winning!
