The NFL's Pro Bowl game kicks off on Sunday night ahead of next week's Super Bowl, and part of the pre-game festivities included a fun series of "skills showdowns".

The league ended its run of annual All-Star showcases in Honolulu and brings the product stateside, in a game that features numerous NFL's stars, but also has seen numerous biggest talents opt out. A game that is nothing more than a bad facsimile of professional football had only standing room seats left. As mentioned, the exciting tandem that made Dallas a hit this past season were both selected as starters for the game.

On the other side of the ball, Harrison Smith will be representing the Irish at safety.

Finishing 2016 with 91 tackles and two sacks, Smith led a Vikings' defense that starter off the year as the best in the NFL.

Frampton: I Hope Santa Cruz Keeps Word, Does Trilogy in Belfast
Thousands of fans had travelled from Northern Ireland to help create a feverish atmosphere at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Santa Cruz's jab was busy in round ten again as Frampton struggled and the crowd chanted "Leo, Leo".

As far as the on-field product that has come under scrutiny in recent years, Goodell said it's important to understand what the game is and isn't - they have to keep players safe and still make it entertaining.

Swenson made the Pro Bowl and fulfilled that part of his National Football League dream after an excellent 1981 season. Today's game will take place in Orlando instead of Hawaii. "It was really competitive", said Dalton, the Cincinnati quarterback who completed 10 of 12 passes for 100 yards and one touchdown. This will be his third-straight Pro Bowl appearance, but this was his best career season.

Those are just some of the key replacements for tonight's game, with full rosters available at the NFL.com website. Alexander, the veteran linebacker playing in his first Pro Bowl as a defender at the age of 33 who won defensive MVP honors, certainly didn't appear to be. Honestly, it's every bit as entertaining as the National Basketball Association all star game because - let's be honest - there's no defense in that one, either.
