In his 13 career NBA All-Star Game appearances, James has averaged 24.15 points, and his 314 points scored are the most in league history. The 66 All-Star game, which is going to take shape at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans, fought between the Western Conference and Eastern Conference in the past, has produced some high-scoring clashes, and this match is expected to follow a similar pattern.

Davis made 26 of 39 shots from the field, eclipsing Blake Griffin's 2014 record of 19 made field goals in an All-Star Game.

Instead, could hometown hero Anthony Davis prevent Russell Westbrook from winning the All-Star Game MVP award for the third consecutive year?

Davis hoisted the MVP trophy, to the delight of his New Orleans fans. So I had a lot of fun.

"I think going forward, the All-Star experience will probably get a little harder in terms of defense", Irving said Sunday night. Russell Westbrook scored 41 points and Kevin Durant had 21 to go with 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

DeMarcus Cousins played only two minutes for the West squad.

They had seen countless dunks as well as big performances from Davis and Westbrook.

Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo led the East with 28 points.

But what garnered the most attention was the 80 seconds Durant and Westbrook played together.

The West All-Stars celebrated their accomplishment shortly after.

Draymond Green called the play "cute", and Westbrook and Durant seemed happy with it as well. "Good give-and-go. Made a good pass. I didn't want anybody to get hurt". He threw a lob for Westbrook to finish.

But it goes to show just how dominate the crop of extremely young players in today's National Basketball Association really is - and that pushes Joel Embiid and All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving down to fourth and fifth on the list, respectively. The West bench went insane, DeMarcus Cousins and DeAndre Jordan leading the cheers.

If those fans were serious, they were disappointed.

Westbrook is averaging a triple-double and carrying the Kevin Durant-less Thunder who now sit at a respectable seventh place in the Western Conference standings. Just about everyone respects him.

James had 20 at the break, but Davis led everyone with 22. He had 50 points and 15 rebounds in a loss to the Nuggets on Opening Night.

The third quarter started fast and furious with both sides exchanging dunks and three-pointers.

But Curry wouldn't be able to stay out of Antetokounmpo's poster for long. In fact, more interesting than the de facto dunk showcasing was a heart-warming moment between Westbrook and his arch nemesis and ex-Thunder teammate Kevin Durant.
