LG has finally unveiled its this year's flagship device, the LG G6 at the Mobile World Congress 2017. The longer screen allows for enhanced multitasking with LG claiming the screen can fit 11.3 per cent more information into a frame allowing people to take in more in one go.

LG also updated the camera module so it comes with two rear cameras, similar to the G5 and V20. The phone is much better this time. LG will put its strategic premium smartphone G6 at the forefront of its display in the exhibition. The actual screen measurement is 5.61-inches, but it delivers the viewing area of a 5.7-inch display when you factor everything in.

The standout feature of the LG G6, as we already knew, is its 5.7in 18:9 QHD+ FullVision display. The LG G6 touts a pixel density of 564ppi vis-à-vis the 554ppi of the LG G5.

The phone's dimensions are 148.9x71.9.7.9mm, smaller apart from thickness when compared to last year's G5, which measured 149.4x73.9x7.7mm. IP68 dust and water-resistance is also included, a big improvement on last years design.

The company didn't announce the price of the G6, but we expect something between $650 and $700, depending on the market. Under the hood, the LG G6 has a Snapdragon 821 SoC that is paired with a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU. The titanium Watch Sport is supposedly 14.2mm thick, with a 1.38in OLED screen, 768MB RAM, 4GB storage, 430mAh battery and a heart-rate sensor - plus 3G and LTE connectivity, Global Positioning System and NFC. The LG G6 also supports wireless charging, even when wet.

In order to make the smartphone more durable, LG used round corners and placed the screen behind Gorilla Glass 3.

LG G6 to come in these colour options. This means, that unlike the predecessors, the battery will not be the removable type. However, the LG G6's battery is a non-removable one like the modular LG G5.

"The LG G6 with FullVision was inspired by the philosophy of experts in the movie industry who believe that an 18:9 ratio screen would be the best solution for viewing both old and new cinematic content in the digital age", President of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company, Juno Cho, shared during the phone's launch, as cited by Independent.

The LG G6 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and has Google Assistant built in.

Anyway, the new G6 is completely different when it comes to design, but LG also changed the user interface (UI) and added a couple of new features like Google Assistant. For example, extended landscape modes have been developed for some apps especially for the phone. The result is a phone with a rather striking screen-to-bezel ratio, though not as dramatic as, say, Xiaomi's Mi Mix. The LG UX has been named "Fullscreen UX". It has been heavily rumored for months, and is now officially true.

The LG G6 comes with a dual camera setup, with 13MP sensors. The wide-angle rear shooter allows a 125-degree field of view, while the front 5MP camera spans 100 degrees. So there's a new Square Camera app.
