The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the contract is for $72.7 million, which would be an average salary of more than $15 million per year.

Antonio Brown isn't leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers anytime soon. The veteran wide receiver ended off by saying that the "work that goes in pays off" and that "working smart, working hard, always being ready when the opportunity presents itself" has led him to where he is today. What wasn't known was exactly how much the Steelers were paying Brown.

The new contract more than doubles the six-year, $42 million contract Brown signed in 2012, one that turned into one of the better bargains in the National Football League when Brown morphed from sixth-round flyer to star. Now, they will circle back and see what they can do about Bell's contract.

They used a lot of that on Monday to sign Brown and Bell. He accumulated 106 receptions for 1,284 yards and 12 touchdowns (stats found via NFL.com).

India hope Pune rout acts as wake-up call
The series is still alive, of course, but India have much to ponder over the next week, ahead of the Bangalore Test. But Smith and Matthew Wade got together to carry the visitors' second innings past the 200-run mark.

"Antonio is a good guy, a good person", Steelers president Art Rooney II said following the season. They will continue to reap the rewards of their faith in Brown for several years to come. "He certainly is one of the top running backs in the league, if not the best back in the league". While the exclusive rights tag isn't one the players are fond of, Bell is probably OK with it since there was no indication he had any desire to leave Pittsburgh anyway.

Bell carried the team in their first two playoff games last season but his groin injury early in the AFC championship game left them without a reliable ground attack against the Patriots. If he plays on a one-year franchise tender, Jones is guaranteed $14 million from the Cardinals.

Brown's new deal is definitely well deserved.

Bell set a Steelers' single-game record when he rushed for 236 yards on a career-high 38 carries in the 27-20 win over the Bills.
