Warriors' Durant out indefinitely with knee injury

Under the circumstances, the Warriors were fortunate. Durant initially attempted to play through the injury, but, clearly in a lot of pain, left for the locker room minutes later under his own power.

There's no timetable for Durant's return and he will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Despite all of that, and despite Green putting them up by one point off of a trey with just 2:16 remaining - and tying it with another trey a minute later - the Warriors could not complete the comeback. Anything more than that and San Antonio, Houston and the Clippers have more than a fighting chance.

This is the first time Golden State has lost back-to-back games in almost two full calendar years.

Ninety-three seconds into a game all about him, Durant limped off the court and into angst. Jose Calderon had committed to signing with the Warriors once he cleared waivers. If he needs to be sidelined for an extended amount of time, it is bad news for Golden State which is one of the favorites to win the championship this season.

You might be asking how this all came to be?

While Durant convalesces, Cleveland is getting better. The Warriors roster now stands at 15 players. Curry suffered a Grade 1 sprain last April and missed four playoff games. How's that for karma?

Apple is reportedly going to change the iPhone charging cables ... again
If the sources are correct, then Apple will follow rivals like Samsung with a curved OLED display for its new "iPhone 8". Should Apple replace Lightning with USB-C, it'd be good news not only for consumers, but accessory makers as well .

Kevin Durant favors his knee after being injured on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time). And don't forget that Cleveland acquired Kyle Korver from Atlanta in January. Being released by the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, Calderon was set to join his sixth National Basketball Association franchise. A likelier scenario sees him sitting until the start of the playoffs.

Draymond Green tied his season high of 14 assists while adding 14 points and eight rebounds in Tuesday's loss to the Wizards.

The decision by Durant, who was named MVP in 2014, was the most highly anticipated move of the NBA's offseason and the Warriors have since compiled the best record in the league.

Chasing that magical number is not why the Warriors lost to Cleveland. These Warriors will now assuredly grab the West's No. 1 seed. Warriors beat writer Anthony Slater joined Murph and Mac on Wednesday morning, and said that clinching the top spot in the West becomes much more important with Durant out, especially when it comes to avoiding a second-round matchup with the unsafe Houston Rockets. And the beneficiaries were the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"These things happen in sports", he said.

The Rockets and Spurs are not chopped liver. Chicago won at Cleveland with LeBron James staying home because of strep throat on Saturday.
