Jackman's first solo outing as the title character is insanely underwhelming. It's a Western. It's a comic book movie for people who don't like comic book movies. Like Deadpool before it, Logan demonstrates that adults will turn out for tentpole fare that is bloodier and more profane than your average X-Men movie.

That person is James Mangold.

In "Logan", the clawed mutant Wolverine finally gets to slash through the constraints of a kid-friendly PG-13 rating, and the result is bloody, vicious fun. It's the movie that Wolverine fans have been wanting from the beginning. Why make this R?

"Before I Fall" - think "Groundhog Day" getting a makeover for teens - took fifth place as it grossed $4.9 million in the latest twist on the "time loop" as a narrative tool. "Critics embraced the film, hailing it as a comic book movie with bite, with Variety's Owen Gleiberman writing that Logan ".brings the saga to a satisfying finish". This is not obvious in the film and the possibility of an X-23 spin-off is pure speculation. But what shines through the action are the number of emotional moments between the lead characters, making it the most moving film of the franchise so far.

Are we going to have more R-rated superhero movies?

$20bn flotation of Snap sees 'a nosebleed's worth of demand' for shares
It reported a rise of just over 3% in the final quarter of past year when it had been in double figures earlier in 2017. Snap's valuation could be as high as $24 billion, the largest for a US-based tech company since Facebook went public.

Also opening nationwide on Friday is Lionsgate's The Shack, a faith-based movie based on the best-selling novel of the same name about a father's transformative spiritual journey. To them, he's just a sad, old dude who needs a shave, someone hardly worthy of notice and certainly no obstacle to their criminal intentions. It's not about any one single scene or act of violence or use of blue word. We will tell you about Logan's after credits scene right here. "They're very vocal with me".

The sound of a movie with Professor X and Deadpool sounds kind of exciting. We'll just have to wait and see how it all pans out. However in Hollywood not only is anything possible but "never say never" always applies.

Having been pegged for a $170 million global bow, Hugh Jackman's X-Men swansong Logan has exceeded expectations, with the third Wolverine solo movie debuting to $237.8 million worldwide. "I vote for Hugh". I think they're both really awesome and vulnerable and taking big risks and eschewing vanity and just going for it in these roles.

The only person who really saw success to better things is David Benioff, who went on to create Game of Thrones. I've had actors in the past that hesitated when you're asking them to play frail. He developed a full grown clown of Logan and he named it as X-24. "She said, 'You've got to understand that your job as a husband is not to be in shape and make me look good". After 17 years of playing Wolverine, Jackman is bidding the character adieu in Logan. And that goes for anything.
