Brandon Marshall reportedly off the board, agrees to deal with Giants

The Giants still have other issues, offensive line and running back to name 2, but getting a still very productive veteran in Marshall will make NY a very legitimate threat to Dallas to win the NFC East and maybe even the Super Bowl.

Marshall's landing spot all but guarantees he'll see a similar workload in 2017. That one's a no-brainer. They each have a ridiculous catch radius ideal for the erratic Eli Manning. He can sign with the Giants before the free agency signing period begins on Thursday at 4 p.m., since the Jets have already cut ties with him. A player who has had run-ins with teammates nearly everywhere he has been.

Marshall called Beckham "the biggest superstar in the NFL" and said, "I'm eager to take pressure off him". Even as a fourth-round pick out of Central Florida, he quickly became the Denver Broncos' unequivocal No. 1 receiver by his second professional season.

Marshall, who turns 33 on March 23, has never been to the playoffs in his 11 National Football League seasons and had widely been expected to hook up with a team he considered to be a postseason contender.

Of course it does. "So being able to play with a guy who's a two-time Super Bowl champion and has done some wonderful things in this league for a long time, he's a warrior, and I'm looking forward to following him".

This will all be an adjustment that Marshall will have to make.

Marshall said he has gotten to know Beckham over the past two years. "The best way I can describe how I approach it is being able to have a real shot at [a championship]", Marshall said.

The Giants get an elite playmaker just a year removed from a 109-catch, 1,502-yard, 14 touchdown season with the Jets.

The hosts compiled three consecutive 600-plus totals before the Pune test and their last three innings have all been under 200. Jadeja failed to recreate the magic he had shown with the ball as Hazlewood got one to move in sharply and disturb the timber.

Marshall has been a somewhat polarizing player.

Marshall, 32, is certain to have options on the free agent market. Marshall tested positive for Adderall, according to sources. He got into a shouting match with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in 2014 and almost came to blows with Darrelle Revis last summer at practice in training camp.

The undrafted rookie receiver was a pleasant surprise for the Jets in training camp a year ago, making the team.

Overall, Marshall should be a significant upgrade for the Giants this season. There's no question that Marshall left money on the table with other teams in free agency. Marshall's production fell off significantly this year, but as the NFL1000 scout peripheral showcases, a lot of that may have been due to the situation with the Jets rather than a dip in his performance. Instead, he was looking for a team that could compete for a Super Bowl title.

Now, Marshall goes to the Giants where he will be catching passes from two-time Super Bowl Champion Eli Manning.

It's a good move for all parties concerned.

If he helps Beckham along the way, even better.
