The last couple of title games probably won't mean much for the committee: MI plays Wisconsin for the Big Ten title at 2 PM CT, and Cincinnati plays SMU for the American title at 2:15. With that in mind, not everyone agrees with all of the seeds in the bracket.

UCLA, Villanova and Kansas have all had excellent seasons this year, and it would be surprising if they were not all assigned No. 1 seed placements for this year's bracket. Now Northwestern is in the Big Dance.

However, the Pac-12 was one of the most competitive conferences, and we can expect some strong teams to make it from there into this year's March Madness bracket.

Three of the most exciting weeks in sports are upon us again, and that's pretty cool. This will be the second NCAA Tournament appearance for the Eagles since 2014. The Shockers have been here before. Still, the Orange ouster was notable because of the outcry when Jim Boeheim's team made the field with a similarly mediocre resume previous year - then made it all the way to the Final Four.

It feels a bit insane, considering that NCAA men's basketball championship history began in 1939, when OR defeated Ohio State for the title just north of Chicago in Evanston, Illinois, where Northwestern is located.

Wichita State is the prime example for why the NCAA's selection procedures make no sense.

Clearly, a No. 10 seed is a bit harsh.

"When you mis-seed somebody, it hurts the seeds above them", he said.

When Grayson Allen thundered down the lane in T-Mobile Arena in December over the helpless and hapless UNLV basketball team, he sent a statement with the dunk that got replayed on "SportsCenter" the rest of the day.

Just remember the name of the game here - bold predictions.

Lonzo Ball - This freshman guard, a player for the UCLA Bruins, is projected to be selected in the National Basketball Association draft. The same can be said for Vanderbilt coach Bryce Drew. The No. 2 Cardinals have a tough road, but they play great defense and guards Donovan Mitchell and Quentin Snider are a tough backcourt tandem.

Yes, Gonzaga got the no. 1 seed in the West region, but it really would have been hard not to give the Bulldogs that honor after they finished 32-1 and posted a 3-0 record against teams that got top-five seeds. Who ever knows what will happen during March Madness. Millions of brackets yield no more than a handful of ideal ones every year.

Here's our early takes on how we believe the East region will shake out.

In many ways, this prediction isn't bold.

But it might work out for the best for the Blue Devils. Also, Duke started the season off with the No. 1 ranking. UNC was the more consistent team between the two.

"There were a lot of exasperated people in the building as the regions went by", fourth-year coach Chris Collins said.

Jim Nantz - When watching nationally televised football, basketball or golf, there is a good chance you are listening to this American sportscaster.

In the East, defending champion Villanova is No. 1, followed by second-seeded Duke.

UNLV fans might have a reason to cheer against the Wildcats.

Baylor is the No. 3 seed, a spot many argued they didn't deserve after closing the season by losing four of their last seven including a quarterfinal loss to Kansas State in the Big 12 Tournament.
