Guns N' Roses, Springsteen, Metallica earn multiple 2017 "Billboard" Music Awards nominations

Drake and the Chainsmokers have tied for the all-time record for most nominations at the Billboard Awards.

The Chainsmokers will be among the challengers in Drake's way for Top Artist.

Returning victor Kirk Franklin, who topped numerous Billboard "Year-End" Gospel charts for 2016, continues to be a trailblazing force with his GRAMMY®-winning #1 album LOSING MY RELIGION and #1 song "Wanna Be Happy?" nominated for Top Gospel Album and Top Gospel Song.

The next closest act for this year's event is Twenty One Pilots.

Top male artist nominations went to Justin Bieber, Drake, Future, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd. Other big contenders at the award show include twenty one pilots with 17 nominations and Rihanna with 14.

Top remale artist nominees include Adele, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Sia.

Lynch visits Raiders amid talk of comeback
Rapoport reports the Seahawks cleared Lynch to visit the Raiders for what was described as a "fact-finding" mission. RB is my favorite position, Marshawn Lynch is my favorite RB and the Oakland Raiders are my favorite team.

They also scored a nomination in the Top Touring Artist category where they'll battle Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band for the honor.

This week, The Chainsmokers has two songs inside the Top 10 on the Hot 100 chart.

Also up for that prize are Coldplay, The Lumineers, Twenty One Pilots and X Ambassadors.

Guns N' Roses received nods in three categories - Top Duo/Group, Top Touring Artist and Top Rock Tour.

Other categories reflect artists sales, radio airplay and streaming figures, social media popularity, as well as celebrating different genres of music including country, gospel, rap and dance.

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 21, on ABC.
