Pirates scratch OF Polanco vs Cubs because of groin injury

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to build on their game 1 victory after defeating the Cubs by a final score of 4-2 in the series opener. The Cubs loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth inning before Tony Watson retired Ben Zobrist on a bouncer to shortstop for his third save.

After going 4-14 against the Cubs previous year, Pittsburgh started out well against the World Series champions.

Cole went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits.
