Head of the worldwide relations unit of Lajee Center, Mohammad AlAzraq, said that the Celtic Fans, AKA the Green Brigade, held many activities to show solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners, including raising the Palestinian flag and solidarity with prisoners and showcasing the prisoners' struggle in occupation jails.

At least 243 Palestinians have died during a wave of sporadic violence in Israel, Jerusalem and the West Bank that began in October 2015. A society, with its top security officials and prison apparatus, is willing to air footage of a prisoner in a toilet. Hunger striking is the most peaceful form of resistance available.

Erdan told Army Radio it was highly unlikely Barghouti knew he was being filmed.

I mean, let's just think about this whole thing first, morally.

There is no clear or easy solution to the conflict and many presidents before Trump have tried and failed. "They are cut off from the outside world, but I estimate that in the coming days it will be possible to see the impact of the publication". Barghouti, who disputed the court's jurisdiction and did not mount a defense, has been in prison since 2002. Israel says 890 prisoners are participating in the hunger strike.

"This is a fabrication", Fares said of the footage.

Sky's US Correspondent, Cordelia Lynch, said Mr Trump's speech was created to get hard-line conservatives on his side. Warren has not ruled out a run in 2020 and is one of the most speculated about potential candidates.

However, Barghouti's lawyer, Elias Sabbagh, strenuously denied that the footage was genuine, saying: "This was expected as part of the psychological and media war the Israel Prison Service is conducting against the prisoners".

Barghouti's wife, Fadwa, said Israel was "resorting to despicable acts" and warned that they would "increase the prisoners' insistence on continuing". "The conditions and regulations in Israel's prison system are determined according to Israeli law and global standards, not by pressure tactics".

The hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners started on April 16, announced by the currently-imprisoned Marwan Barghouti. However, they did not say how the high-security prisoner acquired the food. Throughout the segment from April 27, a timestamp could be seen on the bottom corner.

In an interview with left-leaning Israeli daily Haaretz, Barghouti's son Arab said his father's trial was political and "not based on any evidence or facts". Netanyahu rejects the 1967 frontier as a baseline for border talks and rules out a partition of Jerusalem where Palestinians hope to establish a capital.

Barghouti is a popular Palestinian figurehead who once led Tanzim, a paramilitary offshoot of Fatah.
