The Browns on May 19 signed Garrett - the first overall pick in the 2017 draft - to a four-year contract with an option for a fifth year. But because Brown and Garrett play the same position and were drafted first overall by the same team, Brown will shadow Garrett like the Grim Reaper until Garrett proves he is worthy of the Browns' confidence.

In 34 games at Texas A&M, Garrett registered 32.5 sacks, 141 tackles, and seven forced fumbles. Announced on Friday, Garret has signed his four year contract worth $30.4 million, including a $20.2 million signing bonus.

The 6-foot-4 1/2, 272-pound Aggies standout was held to 8 1/2 sacks last season while he dealt with a high-ankle sprain.

"I'm not anxious about what people expect from me or what they think I am going to do", Garrett said. The Browns meet the Steelers in Cleveland in the first game of the 2017 season. We feel like he's doing the right things to get better. That is what any team would say or any player would say. "But also you see that fire that's burning inside him to be great and I think those are the hallmarks of guys that have a chance to be really excellent football players".

In addition to Brantley, the team has signed defensive end Myles Garrett, defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, cornerback Howard Wilson, offensive tackle Roderick Johnson, place kicker Zane Gonzalez and running back Matthew Dayes. "He is just trying to teach me the tricks that I can get off the ball faster and do it even better". I like our young guys.
