Tug of politics in Rajinikanth 'war' cry

Even as it still remains unclear whether superstar Rajinikanth will enter politics or not, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said his AIADMK camp welcomes the entry of the actor into politics, ANI said. All the media houses across the country gushed out with news of Rajni turning into a political leader soon and would flourish itself in Tamil Nadu before the next national elections in 2019.

Friday's speech, however, set tongues wagging all over again. "So, don't feel disappointed if I don't enter politics", he had told his fans here.

"Go home and do your work".

"We will face it when the war comes".

The kings in the olden days had armies of 5,000-10,000 men and the rest of the population attended to other vocations such as farming; but when war came, everyone launched into the battle to protect their land and their pride.

He also made mention of several politicians in the state and the good work they did. He had also praised Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) Chief Thol Thirumavalavan and Naam Tamizhar Katchi leader Seeman.

"We won't compel Rajinikanth to join politics, we won't object (to) Rajinikanth joining politics", said Narayan Thirupathi, a local leader from the BJP.

To his naysayers, he said, "After seeing comments in Twitter and Facebook, I don't feel hurt. He has no idea or the qualification to be CM".
