With high-profile studio pictures, perhaps even more so. So what has the journey been like for actress Gal Gadot, and how has the character evolved from film to film?

With Wonder Woman out June 2, promotion is in full swing for DCEU's first female superhero movie.

Starring in the average Hollywood superhero blockbuster instantly makes any actor an global sensation - but this isn't your average superhero flick.

Get to know the bad guys of Wonder Woman a little better below.

As much as Wonder Woman is a story of self-discovery, it's a love story and it has a big beating heart.

If we could change obviously the people's lives for this cup we wouldn't think twice. "True. He can perfectly be here next season because he is always a very important player for us.

"Diana is set apart from most comic book superheroes by her gender, but it's her approach to justice that I believe really makes her unique", Gal Gadot claims. Since then she has had a few other small roles in Hollywood films, such as "Date Night" (starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey).

So she isn't yet widely known outside of Israel (except maybe to a hardcore cadre of "Fast and Furious" fans), but her public profile is about to radically change.

Talking to CinemaBlend, the Israeli beauty revealed that fans will see different facets of the superhero in Wonder Woman and Justice League. It is projected to perform at least as well as some of its male-centric counterparts, such as "Captain America" or "Thor", at the US box office (at least $65 million to $83 million) and should rake in hundreds of millions of dollars around the world.

There were previous attempts to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen that didn't happen for one reason or another. Various locations have taken to social media in response, including the operators of the Brooklyn theater promising on Twitter to funnel proceeds from women-only screenings in early June to Planned Parenthood. Just the knowledge that we were doing Wonder Woman's story, solo, a movie that a lot of people had been trying to get off the ground for over 20 years, and she is one of the pop culture icons, so there was a lot of pressure on us to do it correctly.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, raised on a sheltered island paradise and trained to be an unconquerable warrior. I'm not one to jump on board the whole debate on body size, body hair, or all other battles women have to face on a daily basis, but I do have to say that at no point during the film did it even cross my mind that such a debate exists.
