"They told them that they would probably be dead in 24 hours and they didn't have anything to lose".

"They will be brought to justice swiftly for their heinous crime against our Officers", he said, also expressing gratitude to all of the law enforcement officers who provided support and assistance in the search for the two men. They also ate a beef stew the woman had been preparing, took valuables and clothing, and ordered them to concoct a story that would hide their identities.

The other prisoners on the bus Tuesday were taken to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and put on another corrections department bus.

By about 5 p.m. they were on the run again, in the couple's Jeep.

Within three minutes, more than 45 police officers arrived and apprehended the suspects.

"We've had an armed home invasion", the man said.

"You survived. You survived", he tells her. You did it. You did a good job.

"If that [the surrender] doesn't make you want to believe in Jesus Christ, I don't know what will", said Hale.

Audio released from the pursuit to capture Rowe and Dubose show police and deputies responding with calm and clear reactions.

Rowe and Dubose were captured after a homeowner saw them trying to steal his vehicle and held them at gunpoint.

The inmates then led police on a high-speed chase and were taken into custody. Rutherford County Sheriff Michael Fitzhugh said his deputies did not return fire and none were injured.

The inmates were caught following a vehicle chase in Tennessee, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal said on Twitter.

Police say they forced their way into an elderly couple's home at gunpoint on Kingree Road in Bedford County. At that point an homeowner came out and held the suspects at bay until authorities arrived. The fugitives then locked up 31 other inmates and jumped out with the guards' 9 mm Glock pistols, carjacking a driver who happened to pull up behind them.

Diplomatic relations reestablished by Obama, including reopened embassies in Washington and Havana, will remain. He called the country's human rights record "deplorable". "They don't know how to make a good deal".

"True bravery is what's caused us to stand before you tonight to talk about a successful capture instead of a tragic incident", Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn said.

"I don't need an ambulance", the man says.

Rowe was serving up to life in prison and Dubose up to 20 years in prison, officials said. They will be extradited back to Georgia where they'll face an array of charges.

Authorities hold a news conference held at a truck stop Thursday, June 15, 2017, in Christiana, Tenn.

Both fugitives - who authorities said killed two prison guards in order to escape - lost their weapons in an earlier crash, so they surrendered, authorities told the station.

Sgt. Christopher Monica and Sgt. Curtis Billue were overpowered and disarmed, then shot to death.

Authorities warned that the men, who had escaped with the guards' 9 mm pistols, were considered very risky.

There the two apparently stole a auto, which they covered with grass and branches when they ditched it along a state highway in Bedford County, authorities said.

The duo carjacked a green Honda Civic and drove it for 25 miles to an elderly couples home, which they reportedly ransacked and held the couple hostage for an undisclosed amount of time before stealing their Ford pickup truck.

The two men were cellmates and friends in prison, and may have planned their escape; however, the bus ride Tuesday morning was unscheduled, officials said.

The pair had been cellmates once and both were serving prison sentences for separate armed robbery and assault convictions at Baldwin State Prison near Milledgeville.
