The Sacramento Kings selected Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox with the fifth pick in the National Basketball Association draft.

The team is also interested in Jayson Tatum and Josh Jackson - if one of them are around at their first pick and Fox is not, they will nearly certainly pull the trigger.

Jackson's jersey will be honored in the rafters of the Dean Smith Center. They drafted center DeMarcus Cousins in 2010, big man Willie Cauley-Stein in 2015 and swapped picks a year ago to end up with center Skal Labissiere. Fox is one of the Draft's best player. Sacramento swapped out pick 10 for picks 15 and 20 and were able to get relative talent at 15 to what the Blazers got at 10. Fox is an electric athlete, with blazing end-to-end speed and the length and quickness to be a top-flight defender. "I know I'm going to need it at the next level, but also that was something I really just struggled with at the beginning of the year at Kentucky, so I that was one thing didn't really worry about, I just had to tighten (it up)..."

"We want Fox, we want Fox", shouted Kings fans prior to the players introduction, referring to the team's top draft pick and fifth overall selection De'Aaron Fox, the point guard out of Kentucky.

Basically, the Kings had three picks, flipped one into two for a total of four shots at the deepest draft pool in recent history and - at least for now - didn't mess it up.

When exactly is the first day of summer?
It reflects the tilt of the Earth itself - by roughly 23.4 - with respect to the path it traces out as it orbits the Sun. This year's Solstice comes amidst a heat wave that is sweeping northern California with record-breaking temperatures.

"I feel like I'm the best (point guard)", Fox said. The addition of any point guard would cause a logjam in the backcourt, making it necessary for the team to move either Bledsoe or Knight.

"Sometimes when a team is not doing too well, they probably didn't have the leadership that they wanted", Fox said.

"Being up here now, emotions kind of change a little bit", Fox said.

Afflalo signed a two-year, $25 million deal with the Kings last offseason. Especially playing the point guard position, usually that's the leader on the team, and I know I'm going to come in, the youngest guy on the team, but just try to earn everybody's respect. Williams spent just three seasons with the Kings, but in that time he averaged 11.3 ppg and 6.3 often thrilling assists per game.
