Xiaomi Mi Max 2: Our First Impressions

Marking its another smartphone entry in India, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Max 2 phablet at Rs. 16,999. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes with a huge 6.44-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, 5300mAh battery, and 4GB RAM, and is the successor of the Mi Max that was launched previous year.

As seen on the Mi Max, the new Mi Max 2 also comes with the large 6.44-inch display that offers Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at a pixel density of 342 PPI.

The device comes in a metal unibody frame and sports a rear finger print sensor.

The device runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system and supports the split-screen feature.

Optics of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 fairly impress with 12 MP primary camera with f2.2 aperture, autofocus, dual LED flash and 4k video recording.

Along with that confirmation, the company also posted a teaser image showing actor Kris Wu showing off the rear design of the phone. Mi Max 2 will be available in one color i.e Matt Black. It measures 174.1x88.7x7.6mm, and weighs 211 grams.

The rear panel also has an iPhone 7-inspired U-shaped antenna bands that run to the upper and lower edge of the device.

Leaks indicate that the soon-to-be-launched Xiaomi 5X will be a 5.5-inch phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The new phablet will be available in two different variants. For the Mi Fans that the company calls it, Xiaomi has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer free data of up to 100GB if you are buying the Mi Max 2. Notably, the company has earlier stated its aim of launching around 100 Mi Home outlets in India in the next two years. The phone comes with a new MIUI theme and has various shortcuts and tweaks to enhance the everyday user experience.
