The V30 is the company's first significant smartphone launch since the flagship G6 earlier this year, which, despite positive reviews, failed to pose a credible threat to Samsung's dominance of the Android smartphone market. LG already has its LG G6 flagship launched a few months back. LG will definitely need this bad boy to rock all it can as it will go toe to toe with the formidable Galaxy Note 8 and the upcoming iPhone 8.

In terms of specs, the LG V30 sports a 6-inch Quad HD+ display (2880 x 1440) with 18:9 aspect ratio. This phone has Always-on Display (AOD) feature and Floating Bar.

The LG V30 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is present in nearly every company's flagship phone this year. It comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box, but would certainly be upgradeable to the newly released Android O. It has a 16MP lens coupled with another 13MP lens at the back while on the front there is a 5MP wide selfie camera. It also features a microSD card slot that supports up to 2 TB microSD card. The rear dual camera setup in the LG V30 is made up of a 16-Megapixel (Standard Angle)+13-Megapixel Wide Angle (F1.9/120-degree.) In the meanwhile the front/selfie camera unit is a 5-Megapixel wide angle lens. The glass lens also delivers greater light-collecting ability than a plastic lens as well as better colour reproduction. You'll come across a 32-bit Hi-Fi Q-DAC and a pair of B&O PLAY earphones by Bang and Olufsen alongside a 3.5mm audio jack, a feature that a number of OEMs have recently been ditching. On the connectivity front, users will get 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth v5.0 with BLE, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0 support with compatibility for USB Type-C 3.1. This essentially means that the phone is dust and water resistant upto a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

'With its F1.6 Crystal Clear Lens Camera and Cine Video mode, the LG V30 is designed to help create professional-looking content without professional-level complexity'. However, that's in South Korea with other key markets to follow later, including North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

In what could be interpreted as a not-so-subtle burn intended for Samsung, LG talked up the cooling panel and heat pipe in the V30, which should stop the device from overheating.

The Floating Bar is a semi-transparent bar, which users can customise with up to five apps for easy access. Interestingly, the company has added a feature called Cine Video mode which will enable users to record high-quality videos.

While the device is official, we are yet to know about the price and availability of the LG V30. The audio receive of the LG V30 also functions like a microphone.

The phone which also supports wireless charging will be available in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet.

Interested buyers in the U.S. can pre-order the LG V30 on September 17 with an on sale date of September 28.
