India beat Sri Lanka 3-0 in the Test series, 5-0 in the ODI format, and wrapped up the tour with another impressive win in the only T20 on Wednesday.

India needed to chase down 170, but they were rocked early and lost Rohit Sharma and then KL Rahul. Chahal was the wrecker-in-chief picking three for 43, while Kuldeep had a 2/20 haul.

The India captain should also be pleased with his individual performance, where he led from the front in the T20 match, scoring a 54-ball 82 to ensure his team ends up 9-0 in the series.

The tourists had whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in the Tests and 5-0 in the one-day internationals, and followed all of that up with another dominant display in the one-off T20 clash. Expressing his happiness over India's emphatic triumph, Chahal seemed to fall short for words while praising his skipper Virat Kohli's leadership on and off the field.

Kohli entered the record books as a result of his knock as he now has the most 50-plus scores against Sri Lanka in Twenty20 Internationals. Dilshan Munaweera smashed his maiden half-century while debutant Ashan Priyanjan also played a useful hand.

The final and fifth ODI match between India and Sri Lanka has been the memorable game for the visitors. As Pycroft said India, Kartik might have assumed it's a heads and proceeded to have a talk with Kohli straightaway while the match referee looked confused and befuddled.

"We knew one good partnership will get us through". And some 1,500 nautical miles down the Bay of Bengal from where the Bangladeshis created history in Dhaka, India were toying with Sri Lanka, another proud cricketing nation but now going through a serious crisis due to a combination of factors.
