The NFL regular season kicked off last night at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, as the New England Patriots raised their Super Bowl 51 banner prior to their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Here are a few keys to the Chiefs' 42-27 victory over the Pats. You know that, with Sammy Watkins no longer around, you're the only thing the Bills have that represents elite talent. The rookie third round pick out of Toledo made his presence known on a big stage.

The game didn't start great for Hunt, who fumbled on his first carry but quickly rebounded.

The next chance will be September 17 when New England visits the Saints.

However, that did not stop the rookie from showing out. Additionally, Hunt turned five catches into 98 yards and two scores, including a 78-yard touchdown reception from veteran quarterback Alex Smith.

Ahead of the game, fantasy owners tried their best to guess which running backs had which roles on the Patriots' offense. "The guys on the sidelines stuck with me, especially the defense; they said, 'We got your back.' They were just letting me know to forget about it and come back and make plays". I don't think Tom Brady looks like he should have ridden off into retirement with a fifth Super Bowl ring after all. Not bad for a game manager. Keep playing my game. In the first half, receivers covered by Peters were not targeted, leaving the coverage for Mitchell and Gaines.

It then appears increasingly likely to rip into heavily populated South Florida early Sunday. It will take NETF-1 about two days to get to Elgin Air Force Base, in western Florida.

"Love him, man", Kelce told NBC's Mike Tirico regarding Smith on Thursday's pregame, via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. But the Patriots went 5-for-15 overall on third and Brady will likely only look his way more in the future.

What's more, New England's offensive line allowed three sacks, per ESPN.com, and the defense gave up 42 points and a record-setting performance to rookie running back Kareem Hunt. Gillislee scored three times on the ground, with a pair of 2-yard runs and one from just a yard out. The Chiefs fear his injury is serious. This man beat cancer, and the following year was first team all pro.

Belichick said he did see some positive signs on Thursday night, mostly from young players like defensive linemen Cassius Marsh and Adam Butler.

They're still the Patriots and they're still the most talented team in the AFC East and better than most, if not all of the rest of the NFL.

This might have been the best game of Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith's career.
