September 14: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Thursday rubbished the speculations of sidelined All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dinakaran joining hands with them and added that same interest doesn't mean joining hands together. Though the Speaker had asked the rebel MLAs to submit their replies by Thursday, they had failed to do so, according to sources in the Legislative Assembly.

The Madras High Court today ordered that no floor test will be conducted in Tamil Nadu Assembly till September 20.

"I have 21 MLAs with me and these are the MLAs who did not attend Tuesday's meeting", Dinakaran said. He said the State government enjoyed majority as all "134 AIADMK MLAs" supported it.

He claimed that there was no violation of rules by the MLAs, and they had not "betrayed the party, and not left the party". The counsel also said that the MLAs have sought protection from the Karnataka police to appear before the Speaker. They later shifted to a resort in Coorg in Karnataka and are since staying there.
