5 new features worth checking out in Apple's iOS 11

One of the sneaky features, we missed, like everyone else, was that in the new iOS 11 control center, the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls are not doing exactly what we think they do.

The radios themselves, however, will keep humming in the background in a low-power state.

You will of course be disconnected from Wi-Fi networks and most Bluetooth accessories if you only do that, but to "completely disable" the two functions for "all networks and devices", you'll need to turn them off from the Settings menu.

Turning off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth once we no longer use it has become a commonplace. Once your device restarts, try out WiFi again.

Apparently, this is because the company wants both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to be available such that iPhone owners could continue using AirDrop, AirPlay, Apple Pencil, Apple Watch, Location Services, and other features. If you do use these peripherals and features, obviously this advice does not apply.
