Accusations have emerged in the last week by Russian and Syrian commanders alike that the Syrian Democratic Forces come into visual contact with ISIS but allow its militants to pass by in order to attack government-led troops.

Russia denied the accusation and a spokesman for the USA -led coalition in Syria said that while rounds hit the SDF forces, it could not confirm that the fire came from Russian forces.

Moscow said it was responding to allegations from the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which on Monday said six civilians had been killed in the province, including a woman and a child. "Statements made by the "Observatory" citing either anonymous witnesses or volunteers are traditionally ungrounded and serve as a "media cover-up" for militants of Jabhat al-Nusra (outlawed in Russia) and its allied groupings.".

The coalition contacted the Russian military "immediately after the impact" via an established communications line used for deconflicting air and ground operations in Syria, Dillon said.

"These were militant bases, ammunition stores, armoured vehicles, rocket systems, and workshops fitting out "jihad jeeps" which were located a long way from residential areas", he said.

Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers have struck terrorist facilities with air-to-surface Kh-101 cruise missiles in the Syrian provinces of Deir al-Zour and Idlib, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday. Now the main government forces are preparing for mass crossing of the Euphrates. Lt. Gen. Valery Asapov was advising Syrian forces retaking the city of Deir ez-Zor.

While Washington has denied the accusations, the troops of the Syrian Democratic Force (SDF), a predominantly Kurdish militia backed by the U.S. military, have recently attacked positions of the Syrian Arab Army in the Deir ez-Zor governorate, to assert control over the oil- and gas-rich eastern part of Syria.

"The Russian Air Force does not strike populated areas in the Syrian Arab Republic", General Igor Konashenkov told RT.
