Nice bounce: With a three-point margin of victory, freshman placekicker Evan Legassey's 37-yard field goal looked pretty big when the game was finally over. "But you know what?" LSU still has a ton of talented players and will always be among the best recruiting teams in the country, so these three head coaches could turn things around in Baton Rouge right away.

Scalise, the House majority whip and a LSU graduate from New Orleans, is recovering from a gun shot wound in the hip on June 14 while practicing for the congressional baseball team in Alexandria, Virginia. LSU then stormed back for a 40-31 win.

Troy's 10-0 lead was the first time LSU had been shut out at the half since November 5 of previous year. "But a lot of those we were more third-and-medium than third-and-long, like we've been in the past".

LSU totaled 93 yards in the first quarter, only 10 yards passing, and 158 yards in the half - 97 of which were yards rushing.

Top LSU running back Derrius Guice was in uniform but Orgeron said he was too hurt to play.

After absorbing a blow to his midsection in the second quarter, Etling did not return for the beginning of the second half, so Myles Brennan, a rifle-armed freshman quarterback, entered.

Critics moaned for years about LSU's former offense.

Looking ahead to Week 6: The Tigers will play at Florida on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CT). Brennan's more comfortable with Canada's movement, the broadcast said. To make matters worse, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell, the Tigers paid Troy $985,000 for the honor.

The Cowboys were stunned, and soon afterwards Storm speedster Josh Addo-Carr bolted clear for the opening try. Although it was predictable play that showed why this decider won't be forgotten too quickly.

"We've just got to get better", Orgeron said.

"We need people to start studying more", White said, "and knowing what's going on". We needed a boost. His results on the whole were predictably Danny Etling-ish.

"Obviously, the interception was critical", Orgeron said, "so we put Danny back in".

Etling, who finished 17 of 25 for 198 yards and two touchdowns, drove LSU 92 yards in 13 plays on his next possession to get the Tigers within 24-21 with 1:59 left on a 20-yard touchdown pass to Moreau. Safety Kris Weatherspoon recovered for the Trojans at the LSU 30-yard line just seven seconds into the game.

There was no wooden horse needed.

LSU was held to zero points and 158 yards in the first half and trailed the Trojans, 10-0, at the break.

LSU forced a third-and-four play from its 24 after the fumble by Brossette, but quarterback Brandon Silvers found wide receiver Emanuel Thompson for 16 yards to the Tigers' 1-yard line.

For the second week in a row, he came out of the game after throwing an interception. The only way Orgeron could prove the Tigers had made the right choice was to elevate their on-field fortunes higher than they were during the latter part of Miles's tenure, including in 2016, when Miles oversaw a 2-2 start before getting fired. "We can't move the ball". "The offensive line did a fantastic job".

The Trojans have committed more penalties than anyone in this great nation - even LSU. Fans were stunned and the sports world is wondering what is happening at LSU.
