Vegas shooter booked rooms facing Lollapalooza in Chicago

One of the bullets penetrated the tank, but did not cause a fire or explosion near the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, another knowledgeable source said late Wednesday.

Stephen Paddock, the gunman in the Las Vegas massacre, booked two rooms in the Blackstone Hotel overlooking Lollapalooza, according to TMZ.

Paddock rained bullets down on festivalgoers from a nearby hotel building, killing 58 and injuring hundreds more.

TMZ said both rooms had a checkout of August 6th.

He said it was unclear why Paddock rented a room at the Ogden.

Her sisters in Australia have since told 7 News they believed he "sent her away" to the Philippines prior to the shooting. She was out of the country during the shooting and returned to the U.S. on Tuesday night from the Philippines .

Also, the weekend before the Las Vegas bloodbath, Paddock rented via Airbnb - and checked into - a condo in a 21-story luxury building in Las Vegas that overlooked the Life is handsome alternative music festival, Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Tuesday.

Officials have also confirmed that the Las Vegas shooter rented another room in downtown around the same time as an alternative music festival held September 22-24.

They were investigating multiple leads across the United States and the world but said: "We can not give in to conjecture and we can not respond to every little Twitter feed that may indicate a theory".

"He never said anything to me or took any action that I was aware of that I understood in any way to be a warning that something frightful like this was going to happen", Danley said in a statement read by her lawyer outside Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Los Angeles. Paddock's brother Eric said the $100,000 transfer was evidence that "Steve took care of the people he loved", and that he probably wanted to protect Ms Danley by sending her overseas before the attack.
