Las Vegas shooting suspect Stephen Paddock's brother, Eric Paddock, told reporters about their father's criminal past outside his Orlando, Fla. home on Monday. Those reports also say that Patrick was living in Tucson with his wife and four children.

Two days earlier, Paddock had robbed $4,627 from a Valley National Bank branch on East McDowell Road in Phoenix.

The elder Paddock's final arrest (for bank robbery) was in Las Vegas, though it is unclear whether this figured into the killer's thinking.

During a court appearance, Paddock testified that he would have fled the jail "if they had been lax enough to let me go".

He was arrested in 1960 for the armed robbery of a bank in Arizona but escaped eight years into a 20-year sentence. He was added to the FBI's list of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and described as "psychopathic'" with suicidal tendencies.

More details have begun to emerge with the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Here, he tried to build a new life as the manager of a "bingo parlor" in Oregon. It's not clear what happened to him after the arrest, but records indicate that he died in 1998. But once again, his stint in federal prison was short-lived, this time because he was released on parole after a year in custody, according to an article in The Eugene Register-Guard.

He was reportedly put on the list after escaping from a Texas prison and robbing a bank.

An FBI poster issued after the escape said Benjamin Hoskins Paddock had been "diagnosed as psychopathic" and should be considered 'armed and very risky.' He'd been serving a 20-year sentence for a string of bank robberies in Phoenix. "There's no political affiliation that we know of".

A neighbor across the street described Paddock's arrest as a awful thing for the kids, and their father as "such a nice man", attentive to his wife and kind to his children.

Stephen Paddock was a teen when the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a "wanted" poster saying his father had been "diagnosed as psychopathic".

He previously lived in another Mesquite - the Dallas suburb of Mesquite, Texas - from 2004 to 2012, according to Mesquite, Texas, police Lt. Brian Parrish.
