Liverpool's 2016-17 season fell apart during Mane's absence at the African Nations Cup in January - in the seven matches he missed, their only win came against League Two Plymouth in an FA Cup replay.

He was suspended for three games earlier this season after being sent off in the 5-0 defeat at Manchester City, while he also missed the end of last term with a knee injury.

Since the start of last season with Mane in the team, they have won 19 of 32 Premier League games and averaged 2.2 goals and 2.1 points per match in the process.

He will also be absent for the Reds' midweek Champions League clash at Maribor, along with a visit to Wembley to play Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on 22nd October.
