That leaves the Nou Camp club in a healthy position heading into the winter transfer window but they are likely to find Liverpool's position on Coutinho unchanged.

News of a winter move would be odd considering Barcelona would still need to beat the offers said to have been made in the summer.

Coutinho only signed a new deal, reportedly worth around £150,000-a-week, in January to become the highest-paid player at Liverpool.

Philippe Coutinho has a "pact" with Liverpool which would allow him to leave the club for Barcelona in January, according to reports in Spain.

Now, a claim appears reported by Mundo Deportivo that says Coutinho has actually won a secret deal with manager Juergen Klopp and Liverpool management.

'We want to have the most competitive squad possible'.

Slow iPhone? Apple's iOS updates aren't to blame
The video below from the guys over at 9 to 5 Mac give us a look at some of the new features in the latest beta of iOS 11 .1. Since Apple has chose to tease which emojis will be coming out with iOS 11.1, we thought we would give you a small rundown.

While that is the case for now, it would be no surprise if a European heavyweight or two came sniffing again in the future, and if Coutinho does ultimately leave, Liverpool will need a replacement.

The La Liga giants had three bids rejected for the Brazilian last summer - the last of which was in the region £112m.

The Times' Paul Joyce, elaborating on Grau's comments, said that "Liverpool will be angered" by Barcelona's renewed efforts.

"I would be gobsmacked if they consider doing business in January, absolutely gobsmacked".

But Coutinho has shown in recent weeks just why Liverpool are desperate to keep hold of him, scoring against Leicester City, Spartak Moscow and Newcastle United.
