Overloaded with Halloween candy? Here are some ideas

Kids can sell their Halloween candy to support the troops overseas.

Looking for an alternative to gorging on Halloween candy?

All the candy brought to Kool Smiles will be sent in care packages to US troops overseas who can't be home for the holidays. "Equally important is that the Halloween Candy GIVE-Back Program provides every American child the opportunity to learn about service, sacrifice and generosity".

Aloy being a part of the game is somewhat fitting since Horizon is clearly inspired by the earlier Monster Hunter games. Equipping the full armor set will make your character look just like Aloy, facial likeness and all.

You can drop off your unwanted candy from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Friday at Total Dental Care in Guntersville. The goal of the buy-backs is to help avoid obesity, diabetes and tooth decay, while offering troops overseas some sweet treats from home.

To prevent extended exposure, Kool Smiles is allowing children to exchange their candy for a toy at its office on 2706 Ryan St. through Saturday.

Operation Gratitude started encouraging dental offices to collect Halloween candy to send to the troops in 2007. All donated candy will be sent via Operation Gratitude to USA service members stationed overseas. Collection times are 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Friday.
