This year, veterans from all branches of service and theaters will once again ride in the parade.

The parade commemorates the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, which this year is Saturday, when the armistice was signed in 1918 ending World War I. For those looking to attend a special event in honor of this special day, there are several events happening around Eufaula this week celebrating Veterans Day, which is November 11. All veterans are welcome to join in and be a part of the local celebration.

Parade grand marshals are Col. Todd Ferry, USMC, commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and Capt. Gerald Woelkers, commanding officer of the Naval Health Clinic aboard the air station. The public is invited to honor military personnel and veterans.
