After almost two days of deliberation, a jury has found Nicki Minaj's brother, Jelani Maraj, guilty in his child rape trial.

Newsday reports that the girl's brother, now 10, also testified, claiming he once saw Maraj's "private parts" touching his sister. He will be held without bail in Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow, New York.

Maraj was arrested December 1, 2015, on charges of predatory assault, second-degree course of sexual conduct and a misdemeanor charge of acting in a manner likely to injure a child. His lawyer said he will appeal. He is now in Nassau County Jail and is set to be sentenced next month.

Jurors delivered their verdict on Thursday (November 9) in Nassau County Court.

"We hope that today's verdict will help the family in the healing process", Nassau County D.A. Madeline Singas told TMZ.

As Radar has reported, Maraj was accused of raping the child repeatedly while her mother was at work.

Minaj has never commented publicly on the charges against Maraj, and a rep for her did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

She told jurors that he had previously treated her like a daughter but told her that the abuse was her fault and that she "wanted it to happen". If she refused his advances, he physically attacked her, she testified, according to Brosh.

Maraj maintains the rape accusations were invented by the victim's mother in an attempt to go after Nicki Minaj's family fortune.

The girl, now 14, testified in excruciating detail about sexual assaults that she said occurred as frequently as four times a week and sometimes twice a day, mostly when Maraj was home alone with the girl. And Jelani Maraj did not testify in his own defense.

Police confirmed that they had found Maraj's semen on the girl's pajamas, but the defense claimed the girl and her mother planted the evidence. Maraj, the boy said, told him to stay silent or he would be taken from his mother, says Brosh.
