Frenchmen Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet plummeted from 13,000 ft before speeding through the air at 85 miles per hour somehow managing to glide into the custom build aircraft below.

Most videos of wingsuit flyers are inherently insane - it just so happens that is the nature of humans imitating flying squirrels.

The two stuntmen had been training for months and performed 100 test flights in Spain before the actual stunt in Switzerland.

With its mountainous terrain and stupendous views, Switzerland has always been popular with basejumpers, who fling themselves from cliffs and "fly" through the air using a wingsuit before landing in a field.

This is certainly one of the more high-risk stunts attempted in a wingsuit that we've ever seen.

They had bettered the famous stunt of wingsuit pioneer Patrick de Gayardon, who once jumped from a plane before re-entering it. Gayardon was killed in a stunt in 1998 over Hawaii. "Once I got in, I only thought about one thing - my buddy behind".

How do you make wingsuit flying more nuts? "Going up to 4,000 meters, it physically costs a lot".

"We're used to jumping from the plane, but here you have to enter into it", said Reffet. "It is a huge achievement".
