Applebee's made a huge splash in cocktail news this past October when the chain announced it would be serving up margaritas to thirsty customers for just $1 a pop.

So the new offering will apparently follow that plan - though, given the timing, these Long Island Iced Teas may end up taking the edge off of some holiday shopping. Even though one bartender claimed they were mostly water (and Applebee's claimed the bartender was just making them incorrectly), people freaked out.

The restaurant calls the drink the Dollar L.I.T. This time, it's a $1 Long Island Iced Tea, or ahem, a Dollar L.I.T.

The drink features a new mix of vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec and sweet & sour mix, blended with cola.

"Exact spirit brands may vary, but they are all prepared with the same amount of 75-proof alcohol".

It will be available all day at participating Applebee's restaurants nationwide every day in December.

"The Long Island Iced Tea is one of our top five bestselling cocktails and depending on the time of year - our top selling one", an Applebee's spokesperson told BuzzFeed Food.

As always, Applebee's reminds you to please drink responsibly.
