A call on all countries to severe ties with North Korea over its continued missile activities made by the U.S. ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley has been rejected by Russian Federation. Speaking at an urgent UN Security Council gathering, United States ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley warned that continued acts of Korean aggression could lead to a war that would leave North Korea's leadership "totally destroyed".

RUSSIAN Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has rejected the United States call to cut ties with North Korea after Pyongyang launched ballistic missiles on Wednesday.

"We see this negatively", he told journalists in the Belarusian capital Minsk.

While it's true that China could intervene, Wicker further said, allowing Kim Jong-un to flaunt the United States gives China "leverage" with the USA and other countries who need its help.

"And I think that they should have a clear understanding", says Gaffney, "that the cost the Chinese will face will rise inexorably, and quite acutely, if they don't take that step". Mr Lavrov said Ms Haley's call for the world to isolate North Korea was wrong.

Haley said during her speech at the United Nations headquarter that President Trump has called President Xi to stop all oil shipments to North Korea.

President Donald Trump cited the case during his campaign in a bid to show the country needed tougher immigration policies. President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr. responded to the verdict and tweeted out saying: "What a disgrace".

At the Council meeting convened at the request of the US, Japan and South Korea, Under Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman said the missile launched on Wednesday had travelled about 950 kilometres before falling into the sea in Japan's exclusive economic zone.

He said: "North Korea will be risky in about nine months or so because then two things are going to happen at the same time".

China is known to be reluctant to exert any kind of pressure that could cripple the North Korean regime and spark instability on their shared border.

The Russians - who, according to Armstrong, "realize that the U.S.is increasingly isolated on the North Korean issue" - are also strengthening their alignment with China, North Korea's top trading partner.

He urged the acceptance of a proposal made jointly by China and Russian Federation that would require North Korea to suspend nuclear activity and the USA and South Korea to halt joint military exercises in order to pave the way for talks. "That's why we are interested in a political and diplomatic solution".

North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) claimed the Hwasong-15 was "tipped with super-large heavy warhead which is capable of striking the whole mainland of the US".
