The main USP of the device is the promise of all-day computing.

Qualcomm and its partners debuted the world's first Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops from its 2 annual Snapdragon Technology Summit from Maui, Hawaii.

Built upon the Snapdragon 835 SoC, the Envy x2 will be available in configurations featuring up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. Both models will launch with Windows 10 S, but can be upgraded to the full Windows 10 experience. Asus NovaGo also features Windows 10 features such as Windows Ink with stylus support, Microsoft's virtual assistant Cortana, and Windows Hello for biometric authentication. ARM computers aren't noticeably thinner or lighter than others, and though they lack any sort of fans, many newer Intel computers are fanless, as well. We've already detailed the finer points and pitfalls of Qualcomm's ambition, but now we can see if the company can make it stick with a new pair of devices from Asus and HP. Qualcomm boasts battery life of up to 25 hours, plus instant power on and performance that is on par with an Intel computer.

No need to tether with a smartphone, and no need to deal with offline mode in documents as this always-connected Windows machine has a built-in eSIM, plus a battery that's capable of up to 22 hours of video playback. Qualcomm is pairing the 845 with its X20 LTE modem, which enables more and better LTE-Advanced technologies as part of the unending search for better mobile signal.

Qualcomm takes aim at Intel in PC processors

The HP Envy x2 can be detached and turned into a tablet. The Envy X2 is one of the first of a category of laptop to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chip for Windows PCs.

The Snapdragon 845 is (wait for it!) a direct successor to the Snapdragon 835, which can be found lingering inside devices like the Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, Pixel 2, and Moto Z2 Force.

The NovaGo starts with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage at $599.

Frost didn't provide as many hardware specs as Asus' CEO did, but the he did have some details about the Envy x2's form factor. We haven't been told for sure that this element will come to the United Kingdom models, so stay tuned for an update.
