Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been ruled out for Wednesday night's game against the Charlotte Hornets, according to sources, after spraining his ankle Monday.

Curry hurt the ankle when he lunged for a steal and turned the ankle awkwardly with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Curry has had a history of ankle issues, especially before he won his two MVP awards.

Curry has been diagnosed with a sprained right ankle.

It means this year's X Factor victor will now be either Grace Davies or Rak-Su, who will return to the stage on Sunday night. It was the first ever X Factor final where no covers were used, with all four songs performed being original creations.

Reports indicate that Curry is in a walking-boot and critches with "severe" swelling around his ankle.

Curry is averaging 26.3 points, 6.6 assists and 5.1 rebounds while shooting a career-worst 38.1 percent from three for the 19-6 Warriors. "Sprained my ankle. See how it feels (Tuesday) and kind of go from there". The Hornets aren't yet the elite defensive team coach Steve Clifford says they can be.

"All things considered, I should, knowing I've been through this before on this ankle and knowing the surgical repairs from five, six years ago are fine, I should be able to bounce back", Curry said. "And then, obviously, it was just a bang-bang (play)".

Let's be honest, the Golden State Warriors would still be insanely good, even without Steph Curry.
