A brush fire that broke out in the Kagel Canyon area above Sylmar, charred almost 11,400, destroyed about 30 homes and prompted the evacuation of more than 100,000 people from their homes, raged on for a second day Wednesday even though air crews made overnight water drops in a bid to douse the flames.

The L.A. Times reports: "The fire was estimated to cover some 50 acres by 6:20 a.m., but Los Angeles fire officials said it was being fueled by 25 miles per hour winds and would likely grow even more".

Stewart said officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were arriving in the neighborhood to handle any potential evacuation orders.

The Getty Center and the nearby Skirball Center are both on the west side of the freeway, but the fire was threatening homes toward the top of the hill on the east side.

The multiple wildfires in Southern California were spreading so fast in part due to what officials called the strongest Santa Ana winds of the season.

One resident who was evacuated told KTLA he was surprised at how quickly the winds shifted.

When it comes to the national conversation of victims reporting sexual abuse and harrasment, he said, "Women must be believed". Not to mention, Bush isn't hiding away from his own unsavory participation in the controversy. "Enough's enough", said Bush.

As of 10:30 p.m. ET Tuesday night, the fire remained zero percent contained, according to the L.A. Fire Department.

We will continue to give the latest updates as we get them.

The 210 Freeway has been shut down from Sunland Boulevard on the east to the 5 Freeway on the west, and the 118 Freeway interchange with the 210 is also closed amid the firefight.

Mandatory Evacuations are in effect. Residents for the area east of the 405, Mulholland to the North, Sunset to the South and Rosomare to the East were warned to prepare for an evacuation.

Large animals were ordered to evacuate at Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, Pierce College and the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

As an inferno rages in the Los Angeles area, photos and video posted to the internet are making the predawn commute look downright apocalyptic. The fire affected a number of schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, prompting the closures of 14 campuses in the fire area today.
