As a raging conflagration now called the Skirball Fire engulfed the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, December 6, the nearby Getty Center and its fabled J. Paul Getty Museum appeared to be safe for the time being. Jerry Brown issued a state of emergency as 27,000 people were evacuated from their homes, the Los Angeles Times reported. And an area south of the Foothill Freeway was ordered evacuated in Shadow Hills between Sunland Boulevard to the south, Wentworth Street to the north and Tuxford Street to the west, officials said. The 405 North freeway remains closed between the 10 and the 101 freeways, making it challenging to access some local businesses. The pass is one of the most heavily-trafficked in the nation.

Some 200 firefighters were deployed to the scene to combat the blaze, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

All Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District schools will be closed Wednesday due to new fire developments.

Simultaneously, other wildfires are blazing in different parts of the Southland including the 65,000-acre Thomas fire in Ventura County, the 11,000-acre Creek fire near Sylmar and Lake View Terrace and the 7,000-acre Rye fire in Santa Clarita area, ABC7 reported.

Billy Bush Confirms "Yes, Donald Trump, You Really Said That"
When it comes to the national conversation of victims reporting sexual abuse and harrasment, he said, "Women must be believed". Not to mention, Bush isn't hiding away from his own unsavory participation in the controversy. "Enough's enough", said Bush.

HollywoodLifers, if you're in the Los Angeles area, stay safe. "But Cal Fire suspects the true number is hundreds more; firefighters just haven't been able to get into areas to know for sure".

Evacuation centers have been established at Delano Recreation Center, 15100 Erwin St., Van Nuys; Balboa RC, 17015 Burbank Blvd., Van Nuys; Sherman Oaks RC, 14201 Huston St., Sherman Oaks; and Westwood RC, 1350 Sepulveda Blvd., Westwood.

Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen, who both have homes in Los Angeles, took to Twitter to discuss the fires.

By 1 p.m. the northbound lanes of the 405 had also been reopened except for two of the slow lanes near the fire scene which are closed because of the staging of firefighting equipment.
