Special counsel subpoenas Deutsche Bank on President Trump's finances

In a statement, the bank said it cooperates with official investigators but would not discuss individual cases. The bank agreed to submit documents "on its relationship with [President] Trump and his family", which go back nearly 20 years, according to an anonymous source.

At the bottom of the story is a small correction: "Corrects story published December 5 that said Mueller "zeroed in" on Trump's business dealings". "No subpoena has been issued or received".

"Several news outlets-including Bloomberg-reported yesterday that the subpoena targeted Trump and his family's bank records, which was disputed by Trump's personal lawyer and the White House", the new Bloomberg story acknowledges.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, insisted the Bloomberg report was wrong at her Tuesday press briefing. "I think this is another example of the media going too far and too fast and we don't see it going in that direction".

The news caused major buzz, as Mueller looking at Trump's financial records, or those of Trump's family, was considered a "red line" to the president, and one not related to Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian hacking during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Mr Trump has repeatedly denied any financial connections with Russian Federation.

"Deutsche Bank was his go-to lender in the years that he was developing real estate in New York City". A string of bankruptcies at his hotel and casino businesses during the 1990s made most of Wall Street wary of extending him credit.

The fact that they also got a second-round pick thrown into the trade is a win for the Nets, who need all the help they can get. The Sixers were set to play the Los Angeles Lakers and the Nets are in Mexico for a game against Oklahoma City.

For instance, weeks before news broke of a salacious dossier detailing alleged leverage Russian Federation may hold over then President-elect Donald Trump, Harding and a colleague were in a London pub meeting with an ex-British intelligence officer named Christopher Steele about a story they were working on. For one thing, it shows that Mueller has succeeded where Democratic lawmakers have failed: getting Deutsche to cough up details about the roughly $300 million Trump owed the bank for real-estate dealings before he ran for president.

A spokesman for Mueller's office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

When approached about the Dowd comment, the person familiar with the matter reiterated that the bank had received a subpoena. We have confirmed this with the bank and other sources. Then there was the day he spent driving around with Aras Agalarov - the Russian oligarch who connected Donald Trump Jr. with a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton.

"One obvious question is why Trump and those around him expressed interest in improving relations with Russian Federation as a top foreign policy priority, and whether or not any personal considerations played any part in that", said the second official, speaking on the condition of anonymity. Trump campaign chairman Paul Monafort, his deputy Rick Gates and campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos have also been charged.

Mueller sought records from Deutsche Bank.

Trump also has mortgages with the bank on his Trump National Doral Miami golf course and has borrowed off Trump Tower Chicago.
