The All Blacks Sevens side have won their first title in 21 months after defeating Argentina 38-14 in the Cape Town Sevens today.

In a repeat of last year's Cape Town semi-final - in which the hosts knocked the Kiwis out to secure their final spot against England - the New Zealanders celebrated a win this time around after also beating the defending Cape Town title-holders, England, in a quarter-final clash earlier in the day.

New Zealand pipped England 17-12 in the quarterfinals, coming from 12-5 down early in the second spell as tries to Dylan Collier and a last-minute effort from Joseva Ravouvou earned their side a place in the last four.

NZ moved to the top of the overall standings on 41 points with their victory in Cape Town‚ after finishing as runners-up to the Blitzboks in Dubai last weekend.

New Zealand were not only swept aside 22-0 by the US in their opening pool game, they needed come-from-behind wins over two of their biggest rivals to secure their spot in the title decider.
