Her husband showed up at the cafeteria after the couple had a fight and shot her near her vehicle in the parking lot before turning the gun on himself, police said.

No students were involved in the shooting, said Penn State Beaver Chancellor Jennifer Cushman in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon, and no other injuries were reported.

A tweet from the university's Twitter page said shots were fired near Bistro, but the situation was contained.

The campus will be closed until further notice.

Authorities told WTAE that they have reason to believe the shooter was the employee's estranged husband. At least 15 shots were reportedly fired and several ambulances remain on the scene.

Wednesday's shooting comes just one day before the five year anniversary of the tragic Sandy Hook school shooting, which left 26 people dead.

Johnston-Smith said the shooting occurred outside the building in a parking lot.

An officer heard the shots and lots of screaming and responded to the scene.

Penn State Beaver is a campus of Pennsylvania State University in Center Township.
