Amazon, the global e-commerce giant, has acquired Blink - the maker of wireless connected home security camera and doorbell.

Blink products are already compatible with Amazon's Echo home assistant, which runs the Alexa voice service powered by Lex, an AWS-hosted deep learning engine for enabling natural language functions. It was through e-mail that was sent to customers, where Blink announced that this company has been purchased by Amazon. Their line of cameras' big pull to consumers is that they are supposed to last over 2 years with only a pair of AA batteries. One camera unit sells for $99 on Amazon. This was the startup's original product released in the beginning of 2016, which is designed for indoor use. Blink had raised almost $30 million in funding, most recently $3 million in convertible debt this past February, according to VC-research firm PitchBook. This product came equipped with night vision capabilities, a useful tool to have when taking into consideration home invasions and the mystery surrounding the perpetrator.

A pick-six from Tom Brady sure didn't help matters here. "Come on, that was a touchdown". The Bills were forced to settle for a 23-yard field goal as the half expired.

Blink's security cameras, first introduced in 2016, are known for their ease of setup and for not needing a plug because they can operate on batteries. The company stretched its connected lineup for homes back this year with its Cloud Cam, which is a security camera that has from then has become a fundamental part of Amazon Key; a connected lock that allows the delivery workers of Amazon enter homes for dropping by ordered packages when the homeowner is out. "As one of their distributors, we already know customers love their home security cameras and monitoring systems", Amazon said in an emailed statement.
