Mega Millions jackpot grows to $306M, Powerball at $337M

The nation's two largest lottery jackpots are creeping up after drawings so far this week have not yielded a victor in the Mega Millions jackpot or the Powerball jackpot. The Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $384 million for a single victor.

The Mega Millions winning numbers for Friday were 04, 10, 18, 28, and 62.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The biggest Mega Millions jackpot was $656 million.

According to court documents, Dalton served more than 11 years in prison for killing his wife and was released on parole in 2010. On Tuesday, officers responding to a report of a shooting found the bodies of his relatives at 3912 N. 37th St. around 8 p.m.

The jackpot was at $306 million on December 29 when the numbers were drawn.

Lottery officials said this is just the second time the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have eclipsed $300 million at the same time.

In August, an IL player won a $393 million jackpot.
