So on Dec 22nd, dressed in her wedding dress and lying in her hospital bed, nurses wheeled Lindsay down to the hospital's chapel, and she and Mosher said their vows to one another.

After the ceremony, Mosher told the CBS affiliate WFSB News, "It reminds me of someone who is crossing the finish line of a marathon or something".

'Nobody thought she would've made it that far. "It is so humbling that someone could love me like that".

"We were just kind of inseparable after that", David Mosher said.

A love story that is touching many people around the world, Heather Mosher took her vows to husband Dave on December 22, exactly one year to the day that he proposed, which was also the day she was diagnosed with cancer. Confident the diagnosis was something the two would overcome, Mosher followed through with his horse-drawn carriage proposal. In September 2017, they learned the cancer spread.

"We realized it was something that needed to happen because she probably wasn't going to make it", Mosher said.

On the day of the wedding, family and friends worked together to get Heather Mosher into her gown and a wig. "That morning, we had a doctor's appointment after finding a lump on her chest", he says. "She proved them all wrong and that's what that photo says to me". "She held out for the wedding ... a wedding with the man of her dreams".

Bridesmaid Christina Karas loved photographing Heather, whom she called an "amazing person". "We all knew this was all the time left we were going to have with her and we wanted to cherish every second". But since Heather's condition worsened, it was moved up to 22 December, just before Christmas.

"We were losing her as we were all standing there, thinking, to hold onto this, because this was the last she had to give", Karas said.

"What we were seeing, what she was giving us, what she was giving him, was the last of what she had to give", said Christina Karas, a bridesmaid who captured photos of two getting married at the hospital.

Thoughts, prayers, healing and so much love to her family and friends.

A year after they got engaged, Heather passed on December 23.

The couple had originally planned their wedding for December 30, 2017, but the bride-to-be's condition necessitated speeding up the timetable.

'Heather said, "I want to keep fighting", so that's the mantra I'm picking up.

And even though David is attending the funeral for his wife, he's taken a piece of her spirit with him to take with him, forever. "I am so in love and I am going to celebrate that love right now".
