The host has been off television since leaving CBS' "The Late Show" in 2015. In fact, the only thing that might overshadow the TV icon on his new Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, is his first guest: former President Barack Obama.

Obama will be the first guest on Letterman's six-part series for the streaming giant.

Netflix announced that the new show, titled "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman", will be released monthly, starting next Friday, and will include guest appearances from George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, and Howard Stern, Variety reported Friday. Obama will join Letterman on January 12, 2018 for the launch of the new "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman" on Netflix.

This would be Obama's first televised interview since his departure from the White House a year ago. He's just the first in a series of big names in store for the series with each episode focusing on "one extraordinary figure whom Dave finds fascinating".

One tourist killed, 12 injured in air balloon crash in Egypt
In 2016, balloon flights were temporarily halted in the city after more than 20 people were injured in a similar accident. Also, balloons are now monitored by 22 cameras during the flight, San Francisco Chronicle reported.

David Letterman is retiring from retirement.

Last March, Letterman told New York Magazine that he "would have gone to work on Trump" if he was still a late night host.

The in-studio and outside of the studio interview series is set to be "intimate, in-depth, and far reaching", but it will be mixed in with the humor that fans have come to expect from Letterman.
