Even with Sanchez being a key player for Arsenal, Wenger's back is up against a wall as Sanchez's contract runs out this summer.

"He's a very good player", he told reporters. Obviously we will see what happens in this transfer period.

There is much speculation surrounding these reports, however, with the Evening Standard's James Olley tweeting that Arsene Wenger has claimed that the club has had "no contact" with Manchester City over the sale of Sanchez.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez looks to have moved a step closer to leaving the North London side, as Gianluca Di Marzio reports that both the Gunners and Manchester City have reached an agreement over the transfer.

'When he comes he will add something to the team, ' said the Belgium ace. We don't have to take care about that anyway. We are on a good period already - the whole season.

De Bruyne hinted that it will be a case of when and not if the deal goes through.

Arsenal want a fee in the region of £35 million, if they are to agree to the January sale of Alexis to their Premier League rivals.

Of course, we don't know if De Bruyne has any inside knowledge.

"We are still in negotiations", talkSPORT quotes the midfielder as saying. Negotiations are going good but they are going quietly.

City are 15 points clear, through to the last-16 of the Champions League, through to the fourth round of the FA Cup and have one foot in the Carabao Cup final after beating Bristol City 2-1 in the first-leg of their semi-final on Tuesday.

While the Belgian's performance on the pitch was impressive - scoring the equaliser - his performance off the pitch wasn't quite so good.

If his motivation is trophies, then he's in a fantastic position to go now, but if it's money, what's five months if you can get £30m in your bank account at the end of it.
