Morgan commented afterwards that the apology was "significant" and said: "Donald Trump made it clear to me that when he did these retweets he had no idea who this person was, he had no idea who Britain First was". "I'm for women, I'm for men, I'm for everyone", Piers quoted Trump on Twitter.

Was anyone surprised? In a brand new interview with Piers Morgan in Davos, President Donald Trump admitted that he is not a feminist!

"I don't know who they are, I don't know [anything] about them, so I wouldn't be doing that", Trump said.

U.S. President Donald Trump walks in a corridor after a meeting during the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland January 25, 2018.

Morgan, 52, claims to be a friend of Trump, and his Twitter account is one of just 45 that the USA president follows.

"If you are telling me they're horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologize if you'd like me to do that", he said.

Trump sparked outrage in Britain when he shared the anti-Muslim videos last November and became embroiled in a public spat with British PM Theresa May who criticised him for the retweet.

Marin Cilic ends Kyle Edmund dream in one-sided semi-final victory
Marin Cilic says his Wimbledon heartbreak can be a motivating factor when he goes for glory in Sunday's Australian Open final. The former US Open champion Cilic , 29, claimed the second set 7-6 (7-4) on the tiebreak before dominating the third set.

"And they're doing tremendously in business, they're doing tremendously in so many ways". You see all of the women I have working around me and working with me.

He said the interview also covers feminism, climate change, "trophy hunting", Islamic State, Â Trump's mother, and Prince Harry's American fiancee Meghan Markle.

"Of course I didn't know that", Trump responded in excerpts of the interview filmed on Thursday and aired on Friday.

"No, I wouldn't't say I'm a feminist". If you're telling me they're disgusting racist people. Also, he has tremendous respect for you.

"Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russian Federation - so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don't know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS!".

Trump can plausibly deny that he understood Britain First at the time of the retweets, but his claim to continued cluelessness is quite a stretch, considering the amount of coverage the retweets received in the United States.

Millions of women joined Styler in backing Trump in 2016 but his administration's view of feminism is not likely to score any points with the majority of female voters, a group that voted against him.
