Sony and Columbia Pictures just released the first look at "Venom", starring Tom Hardy in the title role.

Other than the Dunkirk actor, the film also features Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate.

The poster is pretty to the point too, and it looks like this...

If you have any hesitation about Venom, have no fear.

The number one thing most fans will notice upon the trailer's completion is that we don't get a single image of what Hardy looks like as the titular character. In Spider-Man: The Animated Series, astronaut John Jameson unwittingly brings the Symbiote that becomes Venom back to Earth following a crash landing. I assume this to be the "transformation" of Venom, the bonding of Eddie and the alien symbiote. Check out 40 Venom teaser screenshots in the gallery below!

Tom Hardy is going to have a big year, ladies and gentlemen. Venom's first teaser is certainly intriguing, so fingers crossed that this means good things for the movie as a whole.

Palestinian martyred in new West Bank clashes
Shortly after the missile was sacked , forces then began demolishing the building with a bulldozer, reported Palestinian media. The identity of the dead man did not match that of the suspect given by Israeli authorities as the stabber.

So while the majority of us won't ever be able to get close to the real Hardy, at least we all can now cuddle a hunk of wax.

It sounds like these new movies won't be connected to the MCU. More recently, the Venom symbiote has been moving between hosts, including Mac Gargan (aka The Scorpion) and Peter Parker's old high school rival, Flash Thompson.

Venom hits theaters October 5, 2018. While Sony producer Amy Pascal has said that Venom will take place in the same world as Tom Holland's Spider-Man and the rest of the Avengers, Disney doesn't seem so keen on a crossover. In Spider-Man 3, the Brock/Venom was played by Topher Grace and Sony had been plans of developing a Venom stand alone film during that time, but it was eventually shelved. As Hardy says in a voice-over, "whatever it was, you used to be one of them".

All in all, it's an intriguing teaser, but if I had no idea who Venom was, I wouldn't be sure what they were trying to sell me.

Nevertheless, I painstakingly watched the trailer for you and compiled a short list of pros and cons to take away from this yawn-inducing teaser.
