"The army needs to out more resources in guarding its installations", said Chaudhary, a retired IPS officer.

Armoured vehicles were deployed at Sunjwan Army Camp, according to ANI.

"Operations will continue till all the terrorists are apprehended or killed".

The terrorists, wearing army combat dress, had assault rifles, large amounts of ammunition and hand grenades, officials said. Two were in a critical condition.

"The attackers had barged inside the camp of 36 Brigade and engaged the troops in a gun battle", they said. Security forces are conducting operations to pin down the attackers.

Earlier in the day, Home Minister Rajnath Singh directed the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to look into the attack.

Suspecting they could be militants, the soldiers challenged them. "The injured have been airlifted to military hospital in Satwari where they are being treated", Anand had said earlier.

Two army personnel also lost their lives in the attack and four others were injured, including the daughter of a jawan, who was killed.

National Conference MLA Muhammad Akbar Lone raised slogans to counter BJP MLAs. In a tweet, she said, "Deeply disturbed by the terrorist attack in Sunjwan today". Another aircraft is airborne to airlift para commandos from Sarsawa. The cross-border firing has stopped since January 22 but sporadic shelling is taking place.

At least 18 killed, 62 injured after bus overturns in Hong Kong
Many early reports of the incident claimed only 18 people were killed in the crash; later accounts increased the number to 19. Saturday's crash appears to be the worst since a double-decker bus fell off an elevated roadway in 2003, killing 21 people.

"The DGP has apprised him of the situation".

He said the search of the belongings of the two terrorists confirm the two belong to Jaish.

Schools in a five-kilometre radius around the camp have been closed by the authorities as a precautionary measure.

The Indian Army has lit up the entire area and is moving cautiously to avoid any collateral damage due to the presence of families of Army jawans inside the camp. Sources in the Army told Mirror that the terrorists had managed to enter the family quarters in the camp and the attack had been contained.

Investigators had found a message, written in Urdu, on piece of paper on the body of one of the four terrorists who was killed at Pathankot airbase in 2016. "The GMC Jammu has also been informed to be in readiness to deal with any exigency and ensure best medical care to the injured", he said.

The Army cordoned off the area and called for the reinforcements. Assembly speaker Kavinder Gupta said that the number of Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis living in the area was increasing and it counted as a security threat.

Afzal Guru was secretly hanged and buried in Delhi's Tihar jail on February 9, 2013 for his role in 2001 parliament attack case.

The camp under attacks also houses residential quarters. At least 12 soldiers were killed in the militant attacks.

This is also the second attack on the Sunjwan camp after 15 years.
